Therapy for Adults

Note that I AM NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS as I am primarily and indefinitely focusing on being a mom. Please keep an eye out for community groups and events as I plan to offer those in the near future.

Life can hit us hard sometimes. You might feel like you aren’t going where you want to go quite fast enough, or like you are completely stuck, or maybe you don’t even know where to start.

Whether you have been through something traumatic, are battling a mental health or medical issue, struggling with a challenging relationship or family situation, or are needing extra support while you move through some of life’s changes or rough patches…

I can help.

I know what its like– I’ve been through it myself. Being human can be deeply painful. But with the right help, you absolutely can take the steps needed to get to a much better place… emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

As your therapist, I deeply care about you, and I am passionate about your progress toward wellbeing. I would love to help you learn to break free of old, outdated beliefs, heal from emotional patterns, traumas, & habits, and encourage you to say “yes” to your own healing.

You are worth it!

I truly believe that it is okay for us, as imperfect humans, to ask for help.

In fact, we NEED to have help from others, whether it be a mentor, guide, teacher, friend, or therapist, to truly grow as people.

Nobody does this alone… ask anyone who has truly grown.

When we ask for help, we have already begun to invite a new reality– a better way of living and being in relationship to ourselves and others, more peace and ease, and trusting that things can change. Just knowing that we are already being supported can be a huge relief.

The truth is we are never alone in this world, (even if sometimes it really may seem that way).

Strangely enough, asking for help can also be the scariest move you make.

How do you know you are getting the right sort of help from the right person? Is your therapist someone who will understand and accept you, no matter where you are at in your life? Is she going to challenge you appropriately when you need that? Are you going to have a safe space to explore yourself in a way that can create real and lasting change?

I can tell you that all of us need a space in our lives for support, relief, creativity, and guidance, and never more than when the journey gets tough.

I work in a unique way with adults to help them navigate many different life challenges… generational and family issues, history of trauma, abuse, or harmful beliefs, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, bipolar and other mood issues, chronic illness, sadness, grief, self-esteem issues, PTSD, communication problems, spiritual problems, feelings of stuck-ness, confusion, and low motivation, and adjustment or adaptability issues are all areas in which I feel passionate about helping others.

As your therapist, my personal style is very eclectic, as I am a highly intuitive person and a master at adapting myself to what you are needing to feel safe to explore and grow. My educational background is in both talk and art therapy modalities, yet I am also a healer at heart. I incorporate a psychodynamic yet humanistic approach, which is often empowerment-based, practical, and compassionate. I place a strong emphasis and value on mindfulness, healing, inner parts work, and grounding. My style is often warm, friendly, sacred, realistic, and humorous, all in one. I will encourage you to grow, yet I will respect and honor your pace and desire to take it slow if that is what you are needing.

Together, we will figure out what it takes to make a difference.

I will also challenge you at times– to learn to think about things differently, or adjust your sails–in a loving way. I will help you to begin to witness yourself, and become more accountable for your emotional wellness… especially at times when you are out and about in your life without me. You will often have homework and assignments to think about in between sessions, to maximize your growth and healing potential and make the best use of our time.

I am not afraid to hold space for you while you go to the places that have hurt. I will dive deep with you. I am there for you as your loving guide, your curious companion. I will help you shine the light of your awareness on the parts of you that need to heal.

And most of all, I swear to you that I will never, ever judge you for where you are at.

This is your process.

In therapy, we will be using a more traditional model of a therapeutic relationship blended with the healing potential of art-making and creativity.

Trust me, no art experience is necessary. Let me repeat that…

No art experience is necessary!

If you happen to be an artist, or have an artistic flair, then that is great, but I welcome bad stick-figures whole-heartedly!!! 🙂

Many people are surprised to learn that art therapy works well with adults, which I always find funny. I have found some of the most powerful work I have ever done is through art and the creative process, and my personal sweet-spot is working with adults. It has always come very naturally to me.

I truly love what I do to help people heal their lives and discover their inner resilience.

Art is like my co-therapist. It helps us break down barriers and assists us with navigating your internal space quickly and non-invasively. We don’t necessarily have to make art in every session, and I tailor our work together to fit what works best for you.

Imagine if within one session, you could have a way to show me what is happening inside of you. As I always say, “art is the internal made external.”

With art, the possibilities for growth and healing are truly limitless.
